I am the mother to an absolutely adorable yet sometimes feisty and moody mini pig. My son’s name is Jimmy Dean. He is my first pet pig. When I initially got him I was extremely overwhelmed, not going to lie. I have been accustomed to being a “dog mom” throughout the years. I do not have any children so when they say that pigs display the personality of a toddler, they weren’t kidding. My portly pink son likes to be a “Nosey Ned” and gets into EVERYTHING! He loves to unroll toilet paper, eat my artificial tree’s moss, he has rooted my backyard and occasionally even likes to rearrange my furniture. It took a little time for us to adjust and get used to one another. Overall, I wouldn’t change getting a pig for anything in the world. I am an animal lover and he is truly 50 lbs of pure love! He has brought and continues to bring nothing but joy and laughter into my life. If you do not have the time and patience to commit to a pig as you would a child, please do not consider owning one. They demand continuous love, attention and affection more so than a dog.

If you have any questions/concerns may I truly suggest getting into contact with Brenda, the owner of this website. To me she was and continues to be a God send. She is informative and reliable with anything in regards to my son.

Well said. I agree that they are a big commitment and can be very challenging , much like a toddler, but if you have time, they make the best pets ever!!

  2. Carmen says:

Where or where did you get Jimmy Dean? We are wanting a little piggy to ad to our family, but want one who grows up just to look like him! I have yet to see any breeder parents who look similar to your little one.

    • Brenda says:

I have contacted his owner and I will post the breeder as soon as she responds.

    • Melissa says:

Hi, Carmen. She is a local breeder here in Pasco County, Florida. She’s reasonably priced as well. Jimmy Dean was $350.00. Her name is Jacqueline and can be contacted @ (727) 271-9998. Keep me posted! I would love to know someone who has a piggy from the same family as my boy. :)

Just an FYI, Carmen.. I spoke to Jacqueline a little bit ago and she said she’s going to stop breeding mini’s and has one last litter left.
